Preparation Tips for ISRO ISTRAC Apprentice 2026 Interview
There's no written exam for this recruitment — it's an interview-based selection. So your preparation strategy needs to be a little different from what you'd do for a competitive exam. Let's talk about what actually helps here.
Know Your Core Subjects Inside-Out
ISRO interviewers typically focus on fundamentals from your degree/diploma course. If you applied for GA02 (ECE), expect questions on analog/digital circuits, communication systems, and signal processing. For CS (GA01/DA05), data structures, operating systems, and networking are common. Don't try to cover everything — go deep on 3-4 subjects you're confident in.
Brush Up on ISRO's Work
It helps to know what ISTRAC actually does. It's the network that tracks ISRO's satellites and missions — so questions about telemetry, ground stations, and recent ISRO missions (like Chandrayaan and Aditya-L1) can come up. Spend an hour reading about ISTRAC's role. It signals genuine interest and interviewers notice that.
Be Ready to Discuss Your Final Year Project
This is almost always asked. Have a 2-minute explanation ready — what the problem was, what you built/did, and what you learned. Keep it simple and technical. Avoid vague answers like "I worked on IoT" — be specific about your contribution.
Sort Out NATS Registration Early
This isn't a preparation tip for the interview itself, but it's easy to overlook. The NATS enrollment can take a day or two. Do it before you even send the email application. Candidates without an enrollment number are rejected outright.
